Post subject:  3 Years of Bird-Watching Magazine

I have been given the hard word by the missus about getting rid of my growing collection of the "Bird Watching" monthly magazines.

So if anyone wants to collect them (Barrow upon Humber), to save them from the recycling, then drop me an e-mail on mike.louise@virgin.net

They are generally in good nick, should be complete and least three years worth, probably more. Must go as a job lot, not interested is searching through for any specific issues.

No idea if they are worth anything, so will let them go for free. (Unless flooded with offers to take them, in which case might reconsider that!)

Thanks
Mike

I'm not sure getting rid of your magazines was the right choice.

When my brood fledged and finally left the nest I was left with 2 spare bedrooms. One for the wife when she snores and one that as been turned into a birding room. Nicely furnished with bookcases, desk, computer, optics, birding gear etc, it also as in it every issue of Birdwatching since it came into print.

Over the last 2 winters on boring, cold nights I flicked through the lot from start to finish. Its amazing how the memories came flooding back. I could remember seeing the rare birds featured and could remember the weather, the wait to see the bird and all the laughs and anxieties experienced along the way. Many a happy night was spent with a glass of single malt in one hand and a masterpiece of bird recording by DIM Wallace in the other.

I think if my wife gave me a similar ultimatum about its her or the mags I might be putting her here on the for sale page.

Dont panic - She still doesn't know my password.

Phil, Its all about give and take. Roll over on a few minor requests like this, then get to go on the lads golf holidy to Tenerife. Everyones a winner!

Besides, not sure its the optimum time to sell the wife. At 32 she has probably already depreciated significantly, yet still has some good reliable miles left. 8)
