New forum member George Rutter,
just a brief history:
I'm from the village of sloothby (nr alford), been birding for about 12 years, i work with my folks on our 80 acre HLS beef farm. Alot of my birding therefore is done on farm and in my wife and i's garden. The garden regularly holds flocks of over 15 tree sparrow coming to the feeders as well as breeding g-s woodpecker and tawny owl. Farm list includes buzzard, marsh harrier, green sand, woodcock, yellowhammer, reed bunt, bullfinch, skylark, brown hare with notable butterflies being essex, small and large skipper.
ok sorry for the essay,

cheers george.

Welcome George, it is very heartening to listen to a wildlife enthusiast who runs a farm. I am sure you manage your space with great consideration but I wonder if you get ribbed by the more 'efficient' land users.

thanks, the garden is quite fruitful, as for the farm- we dont lose much profit from farming in a wildlife friendly way so really i think anyone who is too intensive is being downright greedy.

cheers guys, george.
