Hi,
I guess I should have filled this section in when I joined last month.
Been birding now for 55+ years, although don't feel that old and can still tramp 6+ hours across marsh and sands 2 days in a row to do WeBS etc.
We've lived at the end of Brickyard Lane, Theddlethorpe for just short of 30 years now, but I have been a volunteer for Natural England for around 35 years and am an honouree reserve manager for the Trust and a member of their coast and marine team, but due to work load, haven't done as much as I wanted
I actually semi retired at 56 to do coastal volunteer work, but ended up working even harder, sometimes being away from home for 3 weeks at a time. 18 months ago, at 67, I finally left my various roles, including vice president European fish processors association in Brussels, chair of UK processors, member of technical board of Marine Stewardship Council, various EU/UK fisheries/science committees etc.; so you will see that I will have a continuing interest in marine conservation.
Been a few health problems over the past 3 years, which resulted in a major ops. to ensure I'll survive for many more years to come and also for an unfortunate accident, which left me blind in one eye for a while. However, after treatment over a year, including for the good eye, I now have 20/20 vision, so can see better than before and shouldn't miss any more LBJs.

regards
Cliff
