Hi, I am new to this forum so just thought I'd say hello. I moved to Epworth from Doncaster and still often visit Potteric Carr. I also bird watch around where I live and occasionally visit Blacktoft Sands and Cleethorpes - near the country park. I have just signed up to do the BTO Breeding Birds Survey and have a square near where I live in Epworth. I regularly see Barn Owls but any advice about where to see any other types (esp. short eared) woud be gratefully received. Jenny |

Hi Jenny! I saw my first (and only) short eared owl at Blacktoft in November last year. Libby. |

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I really like Blacktoft and intend to visit in Spring to see the Avocets so I will have to keep an eye out for owls too. |

Well they hunt by the road between Westwoodside and Blaxton and I see them most days on my way to work (about 7am). In fact I always worry a bit if I don't see them, especially at this time of year when I'm travelling just after sunrise. It's great because I remember when I was little being desperate to see a barn owl and now I see them lots. Jenny |
