A worthwhile trip to see a trip of 10 Dotterel (as reported by Birdguides).
I was at the stake-out from 12.45 - 1.35pm today (Sun). The birds were in view the whole time in a field just S of the side road along Whittlesey Dyke opposite Style Farm.
At first, bright sunshine and a heat haze hindered satisfactory viewing. I then moved closer along a side dyke bank and had much better views (without spooking the birds), especially as the sky clouded over and the heat haze subsided. The birds were quite active, running on/off across the field - into a better viewing area - but then back again to more heat haze in the sunshine. (c 8 other birders there.)

Regards,

Freddy
