A visit to this rarity hotspot didn't disappoint again today with the highlights being the following:

1 Hobby en-route to Spurn, which gave stunning views as it flew beside us along the road, keeping up with and passing the car at 40mph!!
1 Thrush Nightingale(Between Kew Villa and Kilnsea churchyard),singing occasionally.
1 singing male Icterine Warbler at Sammy's Point.
1 Wood Warbler at Sammy's Point.
1 male 'Rubicola' Stonechat(A real cracker) at Sammy's Point.
male Pied Flycatcher,Hobby, female Hen Harrier,Whinchat and Marsh Harrier.

An unexpected bonus for us was the trapping of a PURPLE CLOUD moth,an extremely rare species from the continent and the first record for Yorkshire. .

An excellant day out in the home county.

Regards

Steve,with Dave W.
