Post subject:  Spotted Sandpiper.

Made an early morning visit to the excellent North Cave Wetlands to see the reported Summer plumaged Spotted Sandpiper. The bird was found after about 20 minutes, feeding around the islands on twenty island lake, showing very well at times down to 40 metres, what a cracker. The bird was in full summer plumage, complete with a full set of spots and has partially made up for me missing the Messingham bird  .This was my first sighting of the species in Yorkshire.

Regards

Steve
