Made a trip up to this raptor mecca today and again wasn't disappointed, with at least 3 Goshawk's,adult male, juv male and adult female seen very well,at one point the female was seen in the same scope view as a Honey Buzzard!.There was at least 2 Honey's present with 1 displaying, giving good views albeit a bit distant at times. Also in the area was 3 Common Buzzard.
Other highlights through the day were several Painted Ladies and 3 Small pearl-bordered Fritillaries at nearby Newtondale.

Regards

Steve,with JTG.

Another visit today to this superb area(my seventh this year),didn't disappoint with some excellent views of the special species that inhabit this area, the following is what we recorded:

3 Goshawk(which included 1 male flying across the valley with a Jay in it's talons and was observed perched up on 3 occasions).
1 Red Kite observed flying around the eastern end of the valley.
At least 4 Honey Buzzard's(including 2 soaring overhead,with a Common for comparison).
3 Common Buzzard
5 Grey Wagtail
3 Kingfisher
1 Spotted Flycatcher
1 Green Sandpiper
several Siskin over calling and observed

Regards

Steve,with Nigel,Roy and Lin.
