British Bird-watching Fair, Rutland Water 22 August 2009 A very hot day produced a dent in the wallet, some meetings with old workmates, a few celebrities ticked-off (Chris Packham, Mike Dilger, etc) and a few birds as follows: Osprey 2 Wood sandpiper 1 Green sandpiper 9 Black-tailed Godwit 1 Little ringed plover 1 Ruff 10 Greenshank 3 Buzzard 1 Little Egret 1 Eygptian Goose 3 White wagtail 1 Lesser Whitethroat 1 Plus masses of migrant hawkers and common darters.
