Post subject:  North Cave Wetlands

Called on way home from Leeds [ 8th ] and only spent an hour there it was bitterly cold! Hardly any one there but the mobile cafe. Nothing much too report except while I was in the hide [ the one along the pot-holed track ] I later found out from a couple who joined me that seven Goosander came over going south, put up by a low flying chopper.

Following birds seen:

Teal, BH Gulls, Common Gulls, LBB juv Gulls, Redshank, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Moorhen, Mallard, Pochard, Greylag, Cormorant, Shelduck, Lapwing, Tufted duck, Mute Swan and corvids.

There was a couple of maps in the hide showing the present set-up and what it will look like when the new pits are opened, it will be on a much larger scale than it is now.

Regards

John
