Post subject:  Rutland Water Trip Ends 3-Year Bird Jinx!

Long-standing bird jinx ended today circa 13:00 when I saw my first Blackcap at Rutland Water!! :D

Also saw:

Osprey - 1 pair at the Lyndon reserve area
Red Kite - 2
Kestrel - pair hunting close to each other
Buzzard - 1
Sparrowhawk - 2

Common Tern - 50 or so (they're the ones with the red tip to the bill, aren't they?)
Swallow - loads now present
Sand Martin - loads now present.
Chiffchaff - at least 7
Willow Warbler - 2
Sedge Warbler - 3
Little Ringed Plover - 10

Egyptian Goose - 1
Green Woodpecker - 1

Mammals - 1 Muntjac deer at Lyndon reserve area and 4 rabbits at Egleton area.

Reported Black Terns and Spoonbill have now gone. Could have stayed longer but Dad had a meeting to get to... BOO!!!
