A wet morning at Potteric today but nevertheless there was still plenty of bird activity
Bittern x1 (Willow Marsh, present since the 23rd of July) Grey Heron x4 Little Egret x5 Willow Tit x1 Jay x1 Bullfinch x1 (Juv) Blackcap x1 Reed Warbler x5 Garden Warbler x1 Treecreeper x1 Common Sandpiper x1 Golden Plover x1 Yellow Legged Gull x1 Kingfisher x1 House Martin x50 Sand Martin x13 Swift x4 Lapwing x300 Starling x63 Green Woodpecker x2 (Calling in Childers wood) Kestrel x1 No Swallows
There seems to be a huge decline in Swallow numbers this year in South Yorks, don't know if anyone else has noticed in other areas.
Cheers, Richard
