Unexpected visit to Cley Marshes today produced the following:

Arctic Skua - 1 offshore, and my second ever sighting of one. Gannet - 2 immatures offshore Greater Black-backed Gull - at least 10 on scrapes Ruff - about 20 Little Stint - 1 with Dunlin Ringed Plover - group of 15 on shoreline, frequently disturbed by people on beach
Lapland Bunting - 5 just inland from beach behind shingle bank Snow Bunting - first of the winter mixed in with Lapland Buntings (off to a good start!) Whinchat - 1 mobile on barbed wire fence a short distance from the buntings Bearded Reedling - group of 10 pinging away above my head at one point!
Unbelievable numbers of Teal, Wigeon etc on scrapes!
Birder fed visitor centre staff duff gen about a supposed Pureple Heron on the Salthouse side of the reserve, later re-identified as Grey Heron.
