Tried Lound now re-named the Idle Valley NR this afternoon hoping for the reported smew. Did eventually spot a redhead but apparently there has been a male about. 12 whooper swans in a field with about 50 mute swans and good views of a buzzard. What I hadn't considered before I set off from home was how most lakes were virtually frozen over again |
