Rufford Country Park, Notts 20 Feb 2011 09.00 - 11.00 Lesser spotted woodpecker, 3 together (1m 2f) chasing each other near entrance off main road @09.20. Hawfinch, 3 flying over lawn area north of Abbey. Marsh Tit 4 Nuthatch 5 Treecreeper 7 Lesser Redpoll 45 Siskin 10 Goldcrest 10 Long-tailed tit 60+ (several flocks) Goosander 2m 1f Pochard 15 Redwing 40 Great Spotted woodpecker 2 Jay 1 Also, popped over to the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre area which had more nuthatches, marsh tits, treecreepers, siskins and lesser redpolls. Much the same species seen on the 1st of March other than the hawfinch and lesser spotted which were conspicuous by their absence. Just a pair of Goosander plus 2 brambling |
