Just back from a trip to Newport, which incoporated a good 3 hour stint at Newport Wetlands, highlights of the day were hearing a Cuckoo, and the explosion of sound that a Cettis Warbler makes.

Sightings included, Sedge and Reed Warblers as well as Garden Warbler, Whitethroat and Chiffchaffs. Glimpse of a Hobby over the reed beds. On the ponds were the usual suspects of Canada Geese, Mallards, Coots as well as Great Crested Grebe and Little Grebe, Oystercatcher, Curlew, Pochard

As we were just about to leave apent a few minutes watching a Little Egret.

One downside couldn't find a Bearded Tit.

Nice to see your report Andrew. You must admit it is a better use of your time than photographing still life. Just to make you jealous see my report on hobbies at Lakenheath
