Stayed with friends in norfolk over the weekend, so did some of the reserves. Lakenheath Fen: Sedge warbler, reed bunt, hobby(over 10), marsh harrier(3pr plus), cuckoo, kestrel, grey heron, bittern, whitethroat, coot, g-c grebe, cormorant, g-s woodpecker, drake garganey. Didnt see any oriole but 2m 1f were reported on site. also grass snake, drinker moth caterpillar(huge), garden chafer, hairy dragonfly. East Wreatham Heath: Treecreeper, jay, gadwall, lapwing, egyptian goose, common newt, small copper, violet ground beetle. Weeting Heath: Stone curlew(pair with 1 chick), jay, spotted flycatcher, coal tit, roe deer+fawn. |
