Just spent 3 days at this wonderful reserve, all the usual nesting birds with chicks. Highlights were standing within 15yards of Gannets, who after a wet night were pulling up grass, weeds and nettles, taking it back to the nests to freshen them up, photographers were having a field day. Also visited Top Hill Low, another great reserve, nothing special about, but we had much pleasure in locating a Reed Warbler with chicks, watching them feeding in the bramble and scrub next to the hide. All this with a excellent BandB made it a very good break. Mike Surr |
