Today with Chris Grimshaw, not large numbers but nice birds

Redstart (5)
Goldcrest
Wheatear pair
Meadow Pipit (20)
Tree Pipit (3)
Garden Warbler

Sadly, no signs of Spotted Fly or Wood Warbler, but there is time yet

Highlight of the day was getting stuck in a bog on the top of the hill!!!

Although we didn't see and didn't hear one, there was one wood warbler seen today according to a photographer we bumped into
He showed us photos of tawny owls which we couldn't find either
We also heard a very distant cuckoo - probably stuck in the bog that we finished up in.
A guy who spotted the gold crest tried to turn it into a firecrest - no way
Apparently there was also a mandarin duck in the gorge and it has been in the location for a few days but we didn't see it
