I was in Nottingham today and went to check out the Peregrines on the NTU Newton Building on South Sherwood Street.......the pair which produced 4 young in April 2012 only to have 3 die in the appalling weather conditions over the period 28th April - 2nd May.
Arriving there just after 11.00am, the only occupant of the upper ledges of the Building that I could see was a solitary Feral Pigeon.......and it stayed that way during my on/off visits until 12.40. The tiercel then flew in and perched on an upper ledge of the Building. The falcon arrived at c.1.00pm but almost immediately flew off S over the City centre, followed by the tiercel.......both giving close flight views as they passed overhead. Pleased to catch up with the pair of Peregrines I visited twice in the spring and summer, plus regularly watching them on the NTU webcam.
At Trent Bridge a Cormorant and a GC Grebe were dive-feeding on the river.
