Post subject:  Besthorpe Nature Reserve

Spent 11.15am-3.00pm on Sunday 15 February at the reserve. We parked near the hide at the corner of Northcroft Lane overlooking Mons Pool before walking slowly to the viewing areas on Parish Field. After a snack back at the car we were joined by a birder looking for swans. We told him where we'd seen them earlier on Mons Pool and went with him onto the banks of the River Trent. We gained excellent views of the swans feeding on a field south of Trent Lane. Our sightings for the day were

20 Teal
