Went to see if I could get the Dotterel around Choseley Drying Barns before spending the afternoon at Titchwell. I dipped. :(

Wrong side of the field was the problem, but they've been seen again this afternoon and early evening. However, I saw my first Wheatears of the year at the site.

Unlucky Katherine. I managed to pop there last night as I had work commitments nearby. They had disappeared when I arrived, but, after a bit of waiting, six Dotterels finally came onto the field adjacent to Whitepit Lane (next road east of Choseley Drying Barns) and were still happily feeding approximately 40 yards from the roadside when I left. A flock of c30 Golden Plover also dropped in nearby too, which made for a nice scene. Also about were:-

Common Buzzard
Corn Bunting
Grey Partridge
Linnet
Marsh Harrier
Oystercatcher
Red-legged Partridge
Pheasant
Skylark
Sparrowhawk
Wheatear
Yellowhammer

If I'd been unaccompanied, I'd have given the area a thorough search, but I had the parents with me and they were dying for a cuppa and lunch!
