Had an invitation to visit Minehead Heritage Steam Train Gala from Oct 1st - 4th so booked the train and went for five days. Never been to this area. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the GWR steam trains none of which I ever saw in my trainspotting days in the 1950-60s and reminisced with like minded chaps of a similar age :D The star of the show was Tornado and it certainly didn't disappoint me seeing it in "the flesh" for the first time. Took 117 photos and videos on the day (Oct 2nd) plus it was warm and sunny, also enjoyed an ice cream :)

In the garden where I was staying they had feeders and the birds seen were a Coal Tit, Great & Blue Tit, Dunnock, Robin, Magpies, Spugs, Herring Gulls, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons, Crows and Rooks. Took photos and videos of the Coal & Blue Tits, Robin, W Pigeon, a four-engined airliner flying high and the garden.

The next two days I wasn't well enough to visit the gala :(

The day before I left I was taken on a scenic ride of the area seeing, photographing and filming the Exmoor ponies which was delight, also across the bay was Cardiff airport and I took a snap of two planes on the runway, which I was told was twelve miles away, not a good picture but it would have won a bet
Also saw three Raven close by.

I found travelling by train okay except not enough room for my legs except on the TPEx trains.

Kind regards

Max
