Managed to see two hawfinches on top of the lime avenue trees next to the main car park. They were mixed in with greenfinches.
Also present were nuthatches, marsh tits and a drumming great spotted woodpecker.

Cheers
Brian

I too had a trip there this morning where I also had the briefest glimpse of two - another five were fly overs apparently. Nuthatches were plentiful and vocal, Marsh tit and siskin were by the lakeside. The male garganey had moved back to Earring Flashes and showed well. Around 300 fieldfare in a nearby field. Still haven't seen a woodpecker of any description this year despite Ann telling me that we have had two in our garden
