Post subject:  Southend-on-Sea

Spent two day there on 27-28 December.

The pier was a great location! (It is 1 1/4 miles long!)

3 Red-throated Divers less that 20ft (6m) away,

Purple Sandpiper on slipway.

Turnstones roosting even closer,

3 Med Gulls - taking bread at your feet!

Oystercatchers and Brent Geese (Dark) flying inches over your head.

And the best of all - 'Rossi' the Ring-billed Gull showed well with his mates (Mainly Herring Gulls), also taking bread (off the water).

The only birds I did not take to were the 'Essex Birds' !
