First trip to Rutland Water for about 18 months. Enjoyable visit and walk worth the £4 permit
First suprise was to see jackdaws trying to get peanuts out of the feeders where normally you get an abundance of tree sparrows
Plenty of warblers still in song in the mature wooded areas
2 ospreys at the Wigeon Hide (just about the furtherest hide away from the carpark) providing distant views. One on the nest with 2 chicks I am told. Couldn't verify the info about the chicks due to the distance. Apparently closer views are to be had from the Lyndon Reserve
A hobby put in an appearance 2 little ringed plover 2 redshank 1 oystercatcher 6 egyptian geese
