Spent the last week staying at a place near to Leominster, and while out that way i visited the excellent Gigrin Farm near to Rhayader. Throughly recommend it, until the visit i'd seen one Red Kite in Lincs, but saw over 50 in a hour where they feed them :)

Hiya,
We did Gigrin Farm a couple of years ago and it is a spectacle to observe.
We decided to stop on after the "tourists" went and the spectacle was even better. When we went, the farmer would throw the meat off the tractor and it was the crows, ravens and buzzards that would be in first. After a while, they would diminish and the Kites would come in and pick up the pieces.
We camped in Rhayader and when eating our tea, you could see several kites and buzzards above the campsite.
Gigrin farm is well recommended if anyone finds themselves in mid Wales.
Best wishes,
Steve
