I see that last weeks tidal surge caused some major flooding at Cley and other reserves in the area according to this mornings newspaper. Has anybody any further details. What are the consequences to birdlife on the reserve? Has there been any major changes in Lincolnshire?

I was down at Cley last Tuesday not for any serious birding but Christmas shopping. Two lovely bird books for myself from my daughters

Cley reserve was open as usual and lots of birders were on the reserve. The marsh between the coast road and the seawall had lots of water on it. The road down to Cley beach was closed and the Salthouse one was passable for 4 wheel drives.

Had a lovely lunch at the Dun Cow made all the more enjoyable by watching duck, geese and waders close up. Perhaps the ultimate hide
