Fantastic few days in Lancashire, weather ok but bad light most of the time so all pics needed at least 800 iso - pics will be on our blog after the weekend when we have organised them!

The two visits we had to Formby was brilliant, the stars of the show obviously the Red Squirrels- a magical up close experience, particularly two characters who took food from our hands and when we were trying to photograph birds etc they were at our feet, on their hind legs asking for more food :D :D . The birdlife was reasonable too,GS Woodpeckers,Treecreepers, Coal Tit, Goldcrests etc.

A two hour visit to Martin Mere produced the obvious Whoopers Swans, also Pink Feet, Pintail, Long Tailed Duck, Red Crested Pochard, Golden Plover, Eider, etc etc. Bad weather came in quickly though!

all in all a great trip!
