Post subject:  Norfolk

A trip to the superb county of Norfolk today for the White-crowned Sparrow and other local goodies,got us excellant views of the Spadger,along with a fine supporting cast of birds and ended with the amazing raptor roost at Stubbs Mill,this is what we saw:

Roydon Common
1 ringtail Hen Harrier
Common Buzzard
female Stonechat


Cley Village
White-crowned Sparrow,which showed extremely well,across the road from it's chosen garden,a stunner.


Cley Marshes
5 Little Egret
2 Spotted Redshank
3 Marsh Harrier
1 female Merlin(observed chasing and catching a Skylark,after a 10 minute pursuit).


Salthouse
80 Snow Bunting
2 Lapland Bunting(This flock of buntings has to be seen to be believed,Snow Bunting down to 5 feet,Lap Bunt down to 10 feet,truly amazing).
male and female Stonechat.


Horsey wind pump
9 Common Crane(6 observed in flight,and 3 watched feeding on the fresh marsh,super birds.


Stubb Mill
Unfortunately arrived here a little late,so missed some of the Marsh Harriers coming into roost,but still managed 45!also here where:
2 Barn Owl
2 Common Crane
and 3 smart Chinese water Deer.
