Kilnsea and Spurn NNR E. Yorks - Sat 20 09 08.
" It's a lovely day," said my son Alex this morning on weekend leave from the Royal Signals,York, "Let's go birding somewhere different!"
So, after checking re the hotspots on 'Birdguides', we set off ..... for Kilnsea and Spurn.
On a day to be remembered, our highlights were :

Wryneck - showing very well on the outside branch of a bush for c5 minutes near the Point behind the Lifeboat Station
Red-backed Shrike - (in the 'Triangle') - capturing a beetle in flight and returning to its perch
Whinchat - 5
Wheatear - 4
Redstart - 3
Pied Flycatcher
Spotted Flycatcher - in the "Crown and Anchor" car park, Kilnsea
Chiffchaff
Goldcrest
Sparrowhawk
Little Egret.

Regards,

Freddy
