Made the pilgrimage along with a number of Lincs birders to foreign lands (well...Yorkshire
) for the 1st Brown Shrike on the UK mainland. The star bird was a cracking adult & showed well throughout most of the day to the throngs of twitchers - it even had a Red-backed Shrike in the same line of bushes for comparison.
3 Yellow-browed Warblers & a Red-breasted Flycatcher rounded off an enjoyable & productive day in warm, sunny weather.
Well done to the Flamborough locals for a well organised twitch which must have seen 1000+ birders descend on the area during the day. £600 had been raised for the local hospice - and that was only by early afternoon!
