SHOCK HORROR: For the first time ever after a trip to Titchwell - no lifers to report! I'll go through a list of what I saw in groups: BIRDS OF PREY: Marsh Harrier Kestrel Sparrowhawk WADERS: Oystercatcher Little Stint Lapwing Sanderling Turnstone Redshank Spotted Redshank Ringed Plover Avocet Black-tailed Godwit Bar-tailed Godwit Dunlin Curlew Ruff Golden Plover Grey Plover DUCKS/GEESE: Mallard Shelduck (with juveniles) Wigeon Teal Pintail Shoveler Eider Gadwall Pink-footed Goose (skein after skein) Egyptian Goose Canada Goose Brent Goose OTHER WATER-BIRDS: Mute Swan Grey Heron Cormorant Little Egret Little Grebe Coot Moorhen GULLS: Black-headed Gull (with juveniles) Common Gull (with juveniles) Herring Gull (with juveniles) Greater Black-backed Gull Lesser Black-backed Gull PASSERINES: Northern Wheatear Robin House Sparrow Dunnock Blackbird Chaffinch Goldcrest Wren Starling Blue Tit Great Tit Long-tailed Tit Bearded Reedling Pied Wagtail Sedge Warbler FIELD BIRDS ON WAY THERE AND BACK: Magpie Rook Jackdaw Carrion Crow Pheasant Collared Dove Woodpigeon EXTRAS: Brown Hare (2) Common Lizard (4 basking) Lots of Dragon/Damselflies still around SPECIES MISSED: Yellow-browed Warbler and Snow Bunting. If only I'd turned left on to the beach instead of staying at the Telescope Platform! |
