Made a visit up to one of my favourite areas in the country today,Wykeham Forest and the Troutsdale valley area, this is what we saw:

Wykeham Forest
1 Great-grey Shrike(A bit mobile, but showed well on it's chosen clear fell).
2 Brambling

Forge Valley
The usual common species,Nuthatch,Marsh Tit etc,and a Treecreeper which was feeding at one of the bird tables, the first time i have ever seen this behaviour.

Hilla Green/Troutsdale
1 Dipper
204 Chaffinch
1 male Goshawk over the valley, and was later displaying, and one adult female perched up in a spruce, giving stonking views through the scope!
2 drumming male Great-spotted Woodpecker.

Langdale End
1 male Goshawk(could have been the earlier bird, seen at Troutsdale),and a juv. female, seen really well over the car.
Male and female Sparrowhawk.

Wrench Green
2 Common Buzzard

What a day :D ,for anyone wanting to see Gos's well,i recommend visiting this area.

Regards

Steve,with Nigel Genn.
