The RSPB Lincoln Group trip to Rutland Water today (Sun) was very successful and enjoyable in fine weather (esp. pm ). We connected with some 'good' birds : 9.30 - 5.00pm :

Osprey - while watching ( from the recently opened S hide on Lagoon B ) Corvids harassing a Buzzard, an Osprey flew in and perched on a pole in front of us. It was still there when we left 20 minutes later. Plus another Osprey over. NB 10 Ospreys are now reported to be at Rutland Water.
Long-eared Owl - excellent views at c 20 yards thru' the 'scope of the reported bird at the turn-off for Fieldfare hide.
Grasshopper Warbler - all 3 reported birds heard plus one of them gave stunning close views reeling atop a bush with its tail a-quivering. (near Harrier hide )
Little Gulls - c 20 reported and we saw 12-15 0n the North Arm.
Red Kite over.
plus incl :
Reed Warbler
Sedge Warbler - 2
Blackcap - 10-12
Willow Warbler - 15-20
