with Mark Bannister I have just had 10 days in southern Ontario for the fabled spring warbler migration; as usual it was busy with people but everyone seems to agree that bird numbers decrease year on year, its not just the UK; we managed to see 28 species of wood warbler compared to 34 on my first visit in 1991 but our emphasis was on good views and not rushing from bird to bird; it was my 4th visit to this location and as usual proved to be thoroughly enjoyable. The weather was variable with temps of 26C on the first two days then down to 5C and rain with gales on the Sunday and full winter kit but then 21C the following day with a big rush from the south on the 15th and 16th. I am feeding photos from the trip onto my blog as I managed to work through the 5000 odd images taken in the 10 days.
