I have just returned from a family holiday in Mallorca, I have two children a boy aged 9 and a girl aged 7 but I still managed to find the time to do a bit of nature watching and get a few photos.

Mallorca is probably most productive for birds in Spring and Autumn but there is still wildlife of interest this time of year, Audouin's Gull which are apparently one of the rarest gulls in the world were flying and landing around the local beach at Sa Coma.

I would recommend Mallorca to anybody wanting a birding holiday or a family / birding holiday although it would probably be best to hire a car for at least a day or two and a visit to S'Albufera near Alcudia.

I have some wildlife photos taken on my holiday in Mallorca at my web site @ http://www.pbase.com/nickclayton/mallorca_2007

Hi Nick,

Managed to sneak in some birding on family holidays in 2004 and 2006.

Would love to go back for proper naturalist holiday.

Highlights for me to date have been.

Eleonora's falcon and osprey along the cliffs of Boquer Valley and Formentor peninsula, Black Vultures at Cuber Reservoir, Scops Owl on the fence outside my apartment in 2004, Moustached warblers at Albufreira, blue rock thrush, hoopoe, crag martin and flamingo.
