TREE NEWS - YOUR WOODLAND IS UNDER THREAT

The government intends to sell off our publicly owned forests and woodlands to private organisations and foreign companies and are introducing a new law called the Public Bodies Bill, that will allow them to do so.

Once a forest or woodland is sold to a private owner you will have no say in how it is run. Your access rights would be affected as there will be no requirement to maintain forest walks, provide car parks or generally encourage and make access easier.

Some areas of woodland could closed to the public altogether or sold off for development.

DO YOU WANT YOUR FOREST TO BE SOLD OFF TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER?

Visit this website for further information and to sign the petition to save our forests. http://saveourforests.co.uk/
