Nothing special really to report during my early breeding of a TTV around Coningsby.

Good records of common species such as 3 Rookeries with young, newly fledged Collared Doves, Woodpigeons on nests, Goldfinches and plenty of House Sparrows with nesting evidence. Starlings with young in nests, Pied Wagtail with young, Swallows starting to build nests, and Swifts through. 1 Kestrel seen.
Many Blackbirds recorded and also observed 2 Song Thrushes.

Nothing unexpected though.

Sorry - its Timed Tetrad Visit. A BTO term for a survey of a 2km x 2km square tetrad that gets a visit of an hour or two (or more = extra) and data gets inputted to the Atlas 2007-11.
My birding for science contribution so to speak . I have four tetrads that require two winter visits and two breeding visits each. TF25I is one of my four.
More information at: http://www.bto.org/birdatlas/index.htm

Thanks

I have removed the comment "Make birdwatching count" in case of offence

Stuart,

I am sure you could fit in a TTV while playing a round of golf? Would you like me to sign you up for a square...

Andrew

Thanks for the offer Andy - if I only had the time! In between my occasional!! rounds of golf I contribute to the Atlas with two monthly computer submitted ringing records.

Before anyone further misinterprets the BTO advertising slogan of make birding count I would just like to explain that it was just a slogan as per BTO recruitment quips and not an attempt as a new member to upset or degrade anyones reputation that "they are not contributing" just because they are not doing a TTV.

I thought I'd explain honestly what a TTV was and then by adding a quote from the BTO I now wish I hadn't mentioned it. Sorry for any offence over this statement has caused.
