The Waterways breeding bird survey is a national annual survey based on randomly selected 1 km stretches of waterway. Each stretch of water is surveyed once in April, May and July and each visit takes around 1.5 hrs. There are 3 unallocated sites in E Lincs, 2 on the North Forty Foot drain to the west of Boston and one on The Beck between North Reston and Little Carlton, which feeds into Manby Flashes, near Louth.
