A Sanderling with colour ring combination: Right leg: White Flag/Metal Left Leg: Yellow/Red/Yellow Was recorded at Gib Point on 12th June 2010 by John Nicholson. Ringed at Alert, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, Canada on Sept 3rd 1997 as a juvenile. At 13 years this equals the oldest known record for Sanderling. Excellent record John. |

This is a really nice record and I wonder if it has a nice history over those years? It isn't quite the oldest though, as the Wash has a 17-year-old bird: http://www.bto.org/ringing/ringinfo/longevity.htm Mark G |
