Post subject:  BTO Winter Atlas missing species: TF55 Gibraltar Point

This is an extract from the winter Atlas list for TF55 which covers Gibraltar Point. Gib is obviously a well covered area and has recorded 145 species so far, the second best in Lincs after Donna Nook/Rimac (162) but none of the species listed below have been submitted as recorded in the winter atlas period which runs from 1 November to 28 February in the years 2007 to 2011. The number refers to the number of adjacent 10km squares, maximum 4, each species has been recorded in which gives an indication of how likely it is to be found. If you've seen any of these species in this square or know where you can find them, please have a look at the BTO Lincs blog and follow the links on my latest post to add your records http://btolincs.blogspot.com/

One of the difficulties with this square is that the boundary with TF56 cuts across the northern end of the reserve which makes it difficult to allocate a species recorded at Gib and mentioned in Reports on the LBC website unless the observer confirms which square the species was recorded in.
