BTO Lesser Redpoll survey - takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

In just a few weeks, more than 1,000 people have completed the BTO quick Lesser Redpoll survey. This attractive species has been cropping up in gardens increasingly and we want to explore the role of bird feeding in driving this influx. Fewer than 10% of survey participants saw a Lesser Redpoll in their garden in October 2010, but by March 2011 more than half had one visiting. Four out of five survey participants indicated that Lesser Redpoll have an apparent preference for nyjer seed.
