Not sure if anyone knows of this but I was told today of a regular grouping of Herons that gather just off a layby on the A16 (at the back of the George Adams / Kerry Foods factories) heading towards Peterborough I think? Today I saw 9 (photo of 6 of the 9 birds below) but have been told that up to 18 have been recorded there,  I would be interested in any background / history here on this behaviour as I have never heard of this myself before. Saw a similar sight, 7 birds, not long ago at Blackmoor Bridge - 3 sitting on a fence. David |
