Submitting YOUR records to the Lincs Bird Club

One of the most important functions of the Lincolnshire Bird Club is the publication of the Annual Report. The value of this publication depends on members submitting records of their sightings within the Club recording area. All members are encouraged to submit records whatever the level of their birding experience. We also welcome records from non-members.

As we draw to the end of the year, please remember to submit your 2011 records ASAP.

The Club is moving rapidly towards the electronic submission and processing of records so that we can produce our Annual Reports more efficiently. To assist you we have produced our own records spreadsheet (in Excel format) for anyone to use and it can be downloaded at http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/Articles ... ate_WR.xls.

Non-electronic submission of records

We continue to accept records submitted manually but this does cause our records team additional work in converting your records to a digital format so we would encourage all observers to submit records electronically, preferably using the Club spreadsheet where possible.

Please send records to:
North Lincolnshire: John Clarkson
37 Lee Street, Louth, Lincs LN11 9HJ – recorder_north AT lincsbirdclub.co.uk

South Lincolnshire: John Badley
c/o RSPB Lincolnshire Wash Reserves, Roads Farmhouse, Frampton Roads, Frampton,
Boston, Lincs PE20 1AY – recorder_south AT lincsbirdclub.co.uk

Rare and Scarce Birds

These may need a description for consideration by the Lincolnshire Bird Club or the British Birds Rarities Committee (BBRC). Descriptions should be submitted to our Recorder as soon as possible after the sighting. Please contact our Recorder for guidance or rarity forms if necessary. The importance of descriptions for the validation of rare bird records cannot be emphasized too much, AND they will not appear in the Annual Report if there is NO supporting data.

Please send description of Rare and Scare report to the county recorders or Roy Harvey at: roy.harvey100 AT btinternet.com
Please remember to include your name and contact details with your records.

For the record: The 2010 report is in the final stages of production, and will be sent to members early in 2012.
