If you weren't one of the 80, you missed a superb talk on Migration by Ian Newton - it's astounding what has been learnt as a result of new technology. The AGM itself was well attended, informative and fairly quick - just enough time for a quick pint at the end! Thanks are due to Andrew and the rest of the Committee for an excellent years' work.

Can I echo the thanks to Andrew and the executive for the AGM. As someone returning to bird watching I was a little fearful that Ian's talk was going to sail over my head. I think he managed to pull off something very difficult, in not watering his research down, but presenting it in a really accessible way. I'm still buzzing with all the info he shared.

The business stuff went through, with a gentle humour, that enables us to remember that the real purpose of the Club is to share enjoyment of birding, but also to see how that can contribute to the environmental agenda.

Pity about the first pint we had before the meeting, it tasted of vinegar!. the Bateman's Hooker, in celebration of Wales Grand Slam was so much better.

Andrew (a proud Taff)
