I've been given a letter taken from the Daily Mail 4 April with the title 'Ruddy Unlikely'
It reads:

"Those who believe cross-breeding with ruddy ducks will result in the white-headed duck vanishing from Western Europe should go back to school and relearn basic Mendelian theory.
When hybrids mate with each other, one quarter of their offspring will be pure white-headed ducks. Far from endangering the species, hybridisation may be the best way of preserving its gene pool."

I must have been off sick the day my school covered Mendelian Theory!

THAT'S RUDDY PAGE THREE!!!!!!!!!!!! or do I mean that's Ruddy Nuts?

That's only if you have one gene with two alleles that seperates them AND they are recessive or co-dominant alleles. Savvy?

Uneducated University of Oxford toffs, those Daily Mail editors......

I've heard many reasons against the cull, but not one that actually made me laugh out loud before!

You gotta hand it to the Daily Wail, it knows how to print b******s.

Did they say how it would affect house prices?

Indeed, a new low in ornithological journalism...
