Boating in the Wash and North Sea
I made the decision a few months back to investing in a sailing yacht. It's only 17' long, but I wondered whether any of you would like to do a spot of sea-watching, quite literally. Manx Shearwater are one of the specialities at sea.
I can't charge for the use of it, because the boat isn't 'classed'. Classed means that it has passed an inspection (and the owner has paid a substantial amount of money) and it is now legal to charge people for the use of it. What it would need to be classed is things like a liferaft, flares and orange smoke. But, I don't think the boat is going to sink (and, heaven forbid if it does, that's why I've got a VHF radio to call for a lifeboat or a Search & Rescue helicopter).
So, I wondered whether anybody would like a trip out to the Wash and maybe the North Sea?
The boat will have a toilet, navigation lights, VHF radio (incase we need to call for help) and an outboard motor. The trips probably will be from Gibraltar Point. Everybody MUST have a lifejacket on, but I will supply the lifejackets. I strongly recommend that everybody has some water-proofs (both top and bottom) if they decide to come out with me.
I've only got space for about 4 or 5.
