Today there were small groups of mobile Crossbills around Market Rasen Golf Course today. It was difficult to know exactly how many but I would estimate at least 30. This seems a good year for them though I have no evidence of breeding at Market Rasen this year. Are they about in the other traditional sites such as Woodhall and Laughton at the moment?

I was at Snipe Dales Country Park on 10 May and talking to the warden it transpired Crossbills have bred there again this year. He had seen a party of 6 the previous day but unfortunately I didn't see them.
