Post subject:  Queen's Birthday Honours

I am pleased to be able to report that former Chairman of the Bird Club, Bob Sheppard was awarded the British Empire Medal in this years Queen's Birthday Honours, for his tireless work over more than 25 years particularly for provision of Barn Owl nestboxes. I am sure that all LBC members are grateful to Bob for increasing the county's population of this delightful bird.
In addition his efforts with Peregrine nesting trays have resulted in two being used this year, and another with an immature pair present which bodes well for next year. I am sure everyone has enjoyed watching the Grantham Peregrines raise three chicks this year.
Well deserved, Bob and congratulations.

Alan

Congratulations Bob!
I can only concur that it is richly deserved. Your next task is to provide some owl boxes and peregrine trays to the Queen so that you can add the Royal Warrent to your CV!

Best regards,

Ian
